Loretta's Egg

Loretta's egg is on the left - it is a very light tan color, almost bordering on pink.  Reba's much darker egg is on the right.  Loretta's egg is just slightly smaller than Reba's...but then again, Reba has a one week head start on her :-)

It was thrilling to get two eggs in one day!  Now, the other two slackers better hop to it!

Isn't it exciting to see the egg count increase each day? You can't help but smile when you go to check for the eggs. Soon your fridge will be full of eggs.

I'm sure you will enjoy your eggs as much as we have.

I love the colors. Before you know it, you'll have more eggs than you know what to do with. We eat eggs every day and love them. I'm always on the lookout for a good recipe that uses lots of eggs too. :)

What breeds are they again? We are up to 12-14 eggs a day now! They all played copy cat and now we have lots...lots! All getting slightly bigger and various shades. Had a couple double yolkers already too! You'll be up to your ears in eggs soon enough!

Love the dark egg! We have a new batch of pullets that should start laying within the month, and some ducks, too. Can't wait for the new layers to get going!

Haphazard - Yes it is very exciting!

Leigh - The colors are gorgeous - almost makes me want to save them instead of eat them :-)

APG - Reba is a Production Red; Loretta & Emmy Lou are New Hampshires & Dolly is a Barred Rock. You are really getting a lot of eggs!

Mooberry - Thank you for stopping by - welcome! Sounds like you will be rolling in eggs soon too - how many do you have?
